Michael Murdy’s path to becoming a contractor/business owner is not your typical story. For 15 years, Mike worked as Director of Sourcing for Fletcher Terry, a Farmington, CT based company that specialized in production of glass cutting equipment. In 2002, Mike was offered a position with his uncle’s construction company. Interested in the industry, and seeing the need for good, dedicated contractors, Mike decided to join Murdy Construction in December 2002. For the next eight years, Mike worked as a General Manager. However, in 2009, Mike decided to branch out and start his own general contracting company, ML Murdy Company, LLC. Despite starting a business during the height of the Housing Crisis, ML Murdy has grown into a full service general contracting and custom renovation company. With services ranging from aging in place to custom design/build projects, ML Murdy prides itself on being a company that works one-on-one with customers to achieve superb results.
During his work as Director of Sourcing, Mike had to weed out suppliers who were undependable, late with deliveries, and failed to meet other challenges. He saw first-hand how these behaviors could adversely affect the company and its projects. He never forgot these lessons and he and his team bring that sense of honor and commitment to every project regardless of size.
From day one, Mike’s goal in founding this company was to take care of people who want to improve their homes, and there is nothing better than seeing a smile on a customer’s face after a job well done.
